![]() ![]() The only way to find out how good a VPN server location is, is to go through the process of creating a VPN connection, and testing it, then if it does not work well, or not at all, delete it, and try another. You may find that certain VPN server locations work better than others, so delete the ones that you are not going to use from your Network Manager's available connections. So, you could have 6 VPN connections just for the "UK.Berkshire.Maidenhead" area, that your screen shot showed. You have to go through this process for each HMA worldwide server location that you want to use. You might consider copying the certificate and key files "ca.crt", "hmauser.crt", "hmauser.key" from their existing folder (like "/hma/linux/keys/"), into the HMA TCP servers folder to make selecting them easier. Now, you must edit this VPN Server connection to select (browse) to the certificate and key files (a folder like "/hma/linux/keys/"), and the select the appropriate files ("ca.crt", "hmauser.crt", "hmauser.key"), enter in your username and password, which you appear to have done correctly before, click ok/apply, and this new VPN connection should work fine now. Then, go back into the Network Manager system tray panel icon, and through the add new connection, import VPN process, Pick an HMA worldwide server ".ovpn" files from the TCP folder (/hma/vpn-config/TCP/), like one of the six "UK.Berkshire.Maidenhead" files, like "UK.Berkshire.Maidenhead_", then, you will have a new VPN connection to this specific server in this location. You can also move the folder from wherever it is to another folder, if you want to. I created a "/vpn" folder in my "/home" folder to put all my VPN stuff into, but you could just save the HMA file into your Home folder or a "VPN" folder, then bring up your file manager and right click the archive file, rename it to "hma", and then right click the file again, select "extract here - auto-detect sub folder". Go to download page and download HMA Linux package.Įxtract the package on Desktop, rename it to "hma" (without quotes).
